EBANX has integrated OPay Direct Debit to give participating global merchants a recurring-payment option for Nigerian customers.

Reported on 23 October 2026, the service allows a customer to authorise payments through the OPay app, with later subscription charges collected under that authorisation.

The integration connects international digital businesses with a locally used wallet rather than requiring every customer to pay through a credit card.

Recurring billing changes the checkout relationship: an initial approval can support later charges, so the customer’s ability to understand and manage the mandate is part of the product experience. Availability depends on the merchants and services offering the option.
