Tesh Mbaabu is building Cloud9 around the financial needs of African entrepreneurs trading across borders. The Kenyan fintech received investment from Alliance, reported on 8 October 2026.
The company’s platform combines multi-currency accounts, payments and business workflows using stablecoin-based infrastructure. It aims to connect overseas payments with familiar local withdrawal methods.
The investment was reported at around $500,000; that figure comes from reporting rather than a fully detailed public financing disclosure.
Cloud9 plans to widen payment corridors and improve its product experience. For Mbaabu, the problem is practical: an entrepreneur needs to pay suppliers and receive customer funds without managing a fragmented set of services. Availability and fees remain market-specific.
