Cape Town-based Fynbos Money is enabling customers to connect investment portfolios to AI assistants, including ChatGPT and Claude, so they can ask questions using information from their own accounts.

The integration is designed to turn portfolio data into conversational analysis. Rather than asking a chatbot a general investing question, a customer can explore how much of an account’s growth came from contributions, examine underlying holdings or consider a hypothetical change in monthly savings.

Founded in 2024 by Adrian Hope-Bailie, Fynbos combines savings and investment products in one interface. Deposits first enter a central cash account and can then be distributed according to rules set by the user.

The announcement describes a new way to understand account information. It should not be read as a promise of investment performance: conversational analysis and hypothetical projections do not establish what a portfolio will earn in the future.
