Antler targets at least 100 additional African startups over five years

Venture investor Antler plans to support at least 100 more African startups over the next five years, according to reporting published on 3 November.

Founder and CEO Magnus Grimeland outlined opportunities in electric mobility, renewable energy, battery storage and AI infrastructure during a recent Lagos engagement. The target describes the firm’s investment ambition rather than a completed set of deals.

For founders, the announcement points to continued interest in businesses at the earliest stages. Actual investments will depend on the companies selected and the terms agreed. The useful milestones to watch are new portfolio additions, the support those teams receive and whether early backing helps them reach the next stage of development.
