Lagos directs ISPs to tidy and secure network installations ahead of enforcement

Lagos infrastructure regulator LASIMRA has directed internet service providers to tidy and secure telecommunications installations in specified parts of the state.

Peoples Gazette reports that a notice dated 2 November identifies Ilasan, Ikate and locations in Ikeja among the areas requiring action. The agency says cables should be properly arranged and cleared of obstructions before enforcement begins.

The directive puts the physical condition of broadband infrastructure alongside network expansion as a regulatory issue. The notice warns of sanctions for non-compliance; the report does not confirm that penalties have already been imposed.
