Smart Africa and e-Crime Bureau have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding covering cybersecurity capacity, governance and infrastructure.
The agreement, reported on November 4, places workforce development among its main priorities as digital services expand across the continent.
Skills, coordination and infrastructure
The partners plan to strengthen cybersecurity skills and stakeholder collaboration, alongside work on governance, risk management, monitoring and evaluation.
The programme also includes support for legal and policy harmonisation and coordinated cybersecurity operations. A further area covers the development, deployment and protection of cybersecurity infrastructure and emerging technologies.
The announcement establishes the partnership’s scope and duration. It does not disclose a budget, training intake or delivery timetable for individual activities.
