Lagos State used its participation in GITEX Nigeria 2026 to showcase technology businesses and connect founders with investors, government representatives and international ecosystem partners.
The Lagos event at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island combined a technology exhibition, a future economy conference and a startup festival. Companies working in artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, education, agriculture and logistics featured on the exhibition floor.
A pitch programme organised by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, TechQuest STEM Academy and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology gave selected founders a platform to explain their products and growth plans.
State representatives also stressed the foundations required for a stronger innovation economy, including connectivity, power, digital identity and talent. The programme placed startup visibility alongside a broader message about building technology businesses within Lagos. The investor engagements create opportunities for follow-up; they should not be read as confirmation that participating companies have secured funding.
