Analysis — As insurers automate more of their customer journeys, a usable route to human review should become part of the product itself.
Naked’s pet-cover page says complex claims can be handled by its team. The wider design question for digital insurers is whether customers can easily reach that support when an automated process cannot resolve their case.
A clear decision should explain the relevant policy term, the information used and any missing evidence. A customer should be able to correct an invoice, challenge a factual error or ask for review without restarting the claim. Progress updates should show who owns the next step and when to expect an answer.
These are product choices as much as support procedures. An escalation button that leads to an unmonitored inbox offers little protection. Insurers should measure unresolved appeals and repeated contacts alongside processing speed. Faster routine claims are valuable; confidence also depends on how a service handles the cases that require judgment.
