Ghanaian agritech company Vitara, formerly known as Sommalife, has secured €1.8 million, approximately $2 million, in equity investment from AgriFI, Acumen and angel investors.

The company uses its TreeSyt platform to support more transparent shea sourcing. The technology connects farmer information, procurement and traceability, helping buyers understand where supplies originate while supporting producer participation in the market.

The investment is intended to strengthen Vitara’s technology and expand its network of producers. Its work centres on Ghana’s shea value chain, where women play a major role in collecting and supplying the crop.

AgriFI’s participation comes through its Ghana Country Window, funded by the European Union. The financing backs a business combining agricultural operations with digital records and supply-chain tools, with growth dependent on both the technology and relationships with the producers who use the system.
