Farm to Feed’s founders connect food waste with a market opportunity

Claire van Enk, Anouk Boertien and Zara Benosa founded Farm to Feed in Kenya in 2021, building a business around produce that might otherwise struggle to find a buyer.

The company combines sourcing, demand forecasting, logistics, warehousing and payments. It works with farmers and business customers, including institutional food buyers.

A $171,000 investment from Proparco, reported on 30 September 2026, is intended to strengthen the platform, operations and farmer network.

The founders’ model treats food loss as a coordination and distribution problem as well as an agricultural one. Financing can support that system, but the practical test is whether more produce reaches paying customers and creates dependable value for participating farmers.
