CashAfrica has partnered with Chicken Republic to introduce mobile tap-to-pay at the restaurant chain’s outlets.

Announced on 13 October 2026, the project connects CashAfrica’s payment infrastructure with a familiar retail setting. Reporting describes a gradual rollout beginning at selected Lagos outlets before wider expansion.

Compatible banking and fintech applications can use the infrastructure to support contactless transactions through participating terminals.

The distinction between a chain-wide partnership and availability at every branch matters. The rollout gives contactless payments a practical everyday use case, while actual access depends on the outlet, terminal and customer application involved.
