Visa and Senegal’s Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs have signed a memorandum of understanding covering two years of cooperation on digital transformation.
The framework spans digital payments, financial innovation, cybersecurity and regulation, according to coverage published on 2 November. Areas to explore include payments from citizens to government and transfers from government to individuals.
The agreement establishes a basis for collaboration rather than announcing that a new nationwide payment service is already operating. The next milestones will be the selection of practical use cases, implementation arrangements and the public services citizens can actually access. Knowledge sharing is also intended to support a more secure digital financial environment.
