Opinion: A developer conference should leave something usable behind

The strongest outcome from a developer conference may be a small working example, a useful review or a new collaborator rather than a large collection of slides.

Organisers can support that outcome by explaining session prerequisites, publishing practical materials and creating space for questions at different experience levels. Attendees can bring a specific problem and choose sessions that help them move it forward.

Follow-up matters too. A community that shares examples, notes and opportunities after the venue closes can extend the value of a single day. Attendance is a starting point; the more useful measure is what people can build, understand or improve because they took part.
