Bolt has introduced three ride categories in Kenya, giving passengers different ways to balance journey cost, pickup speed and time spent making several stops.

Priority charges a premium for faster driver matching. Wait and Save offers a lower-fare alternative for people willing to wait longer. Ride by Hour allows a car to be booked for one or two hours at a fixed hourly rate, with the booking priced around time rather than distance.

The hourly option is aimed at errands, shopping and business visits involving multiple destinations. Bolt says there is no additional per-stop charge within the booked period, reducing the need to arrange a new ride at every destination.

The company announced the options on 29 October and says drivers retain the choice to accept or decline requests. Priority operates alongside standard rides. Customers should check the categories and prices available for their particular journey in the app.
