Opinion: Cross-border payments need a complete price before confirmation

A fast transfer can still be difficult to compare if its cost is split between an upfront fee, an exchange-rate margin and charges at the receiving end.

Payment interfaces should show the amount the sender pays and the amount the recipient is expected to receive, along with an understandable delivery estimate. If the final amount can change, the reason should be clear before the customer confirms.

Better price presentation would help customers compare different payment rails without needing to understand the infrastructure underneath. Whether a provider uses banks, wallets or stablecoins, the user’s question remains the same: what will reach the recipient, when, and at what total cost?
