The Perfume Co Africa has launched TPC Africa Mobile, a prepaid mobile virtual network operator in South Africa. Founded by Bathabile Moreki, the service uses MTN’s network infrastructure rather than operating its own radio network.

Customers can access an application through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The offering includes voice, data and SMS packages, with prepaid bundles advertised from R1.50. Existing numbers can be moved through the usual mobile number portability process.

A MyWallet feature adds selected bill, electricity and voucher purchases. The company also plans commission opportunities for eligible entrepreneurs selling airtime and data.

TPC Africa says its existing entrepreneur network exceeds 300,000 people across the SADC region. That figure describes its wider business network, not mobile subscribers. The launch is limited to South Africa, and eSIM and postpaid services are not included. Potential expansion into other markets remains dependent on commercial performance, partnerships and approvals.
