Young people and women in Uganda’s Manafwa and Soroti districts have completed a three-week digital and financial literacy programme delivered by MTN Uganda Foundation and Maendeleo Foundation.
TechAfrica News reports that the training uses a mobile computer lab to bring equipment, connectivity and instructors into underserved communities. Subjects include online communication, responsible internet use and introductory AI skills.
The foundation says its wider programme has reached more than 7,000 beneficiaries since 2022. That is a cumulative programme figure, not the size of the latest eastern Uganda cohort. Community-based delivery remains central to reaching learners who cannot easily access a conventional training centre.
