Mozambique’s communications regulator INCM has provided a school in Inhambane Province with a computer room containing 31 internet-connected computers.
TechAfrica News reports that the facility serves a school community of about 900 students. The installation includes a 12-month internet subscription and uninterruptible power supplies to help protect equipment against electricity fluctuations.
The initiative expands access to digital learning resources. Keeping the lab useful will also require scheduled access, teaching support and maintenance beyond the initial installation. Those follow-through measures will determine how regularly students can use the equipment.
